The Missing Stone is a show set in the post-pandemic era and has been shot with a skeletal cast and crew (with hardly six actors) in the interiors of Maharashtra. The story is chosen well for the times we live in, revolving around a limited number of characters and not demanding anything extravagant from the production unit in terms of effort. The advantage with a mini-series for the viewer is that it wraps up in no time – each of the five episodes lasts a little longer than 20 minutes
Plot
The Missing Stone is a dark-thriller set in a doomy resort in the midst of a foggy jungle. The story revolves around a happily married couple, Dhwani and Sahir. Dhwani’s sister Payal plans birthday surprises every year for Dhwani and this time she plans a romantic weekend getaway for her on the resort that gets its name from a villa in the resort known as ‘The Stone House’.
When Dhwani and Sahir reach the resort they too get mesmerised by its serenity. Problems begin when they try to contact Payal but cannot get in touch with her. It’s then that they start getting tensed about her and what might have happened to her. How Dhwani and Sahir try to find Payal and the truth about her mysterious disappearance, is what the story of ‘The Missing Stone’ is all about.
